Guided location shoot ( 3.5 or 7 hours, £120 / £220)

Who is the course for?

This half or full day 1-2-1 course is aimed at helping intermediate photographers improve their photography by taking photos at various locations, guided by a professional photographer. This helps them to understand the thought process, and practical processes that a professional photographer goes through when choosing and shooting a location. It could also apply to more capable photographers who only want a local guide to help them find and explore new locations in the area.

What do you need?

A suitable camera

An understanding of the basics of how to use your camera and how to shoot on Aperture Priority / Shutter Priority or full Manual

Preferably suitable ND and Circular Polarising filters and a tripod

Clothing, footwear and camera protection suitable for a day on the Devon coast / Dartmoor

Lunch and snacks for the day

Where is it held?

On location on the East Devon coast and / or Dartmoor. Locations will be agreed with the client when planning the day.

What does it cover? 

How to plan a shoot depending on likely weather and light

How to shoot a location, including the thought process behind identifying potential shot

Guidance on shot selection depending on light and weather conditions

The technical aspects of how to take professional shots

Transport from East Devon to the locations, and back will be provided if needed

Payment terms & cancellation policy

Full payment is requested by BACS (bank transfer) at the time of booking. Payment by card can be arranged on request.

Please note that fees are non-refundable, but can be transferred to a later course date (for up to 12 months from booking) if at least 7 days notice is given.
